A list of words, phrases, and names we use at the airport

• AFSC - acronym for Armed Forces Service Center; Similar to a USO
• USO - we do NOT have a USO at MSP airport. Instead we have the Armed Forces Service Center
• TSA - Transportation Safety Administration; The government agency that scans passengers
• Arrivals - the level of the airport where arriving passengers are reunited with their luggage and family.
  • It has been called Baggage Claim in the past.
  • This is level 1.
• Departures - the level of the airport where passengers check in, drop their luggage, and enter the secure area of the through a TSA security checkpoint.
  • It has been called Ticketing in the past.
  • This is level 2.
• MUFIDS - the arrival/departure screens (multi-user flight information display system)
